We’re all about it.

As a child we did this with colouring books when we realised that none of the beloved disney characters looked like us, but quickly stopped when we realised that our hair wouldn’t be like that (pre perming children’s hair and weave)
I dont really see the point of this to be honest. We are past the age where disney dominated and was a major influence on children, we can make our own princesses, princes.

The difference is,,,,,, they didn’t paint a white face on a black person,,,,,, in fact they have a black BODY dressed in CHARACTER clothing with regular makeup!!!!!,,,,,versus white people painted there faces black in an attempt to be disrespectful. How could you even compare the two???? Their fake themselves!!!! Something made up !!!! It’s not as serious as you’ve made it.

There is no point posting this on the internet if Disney is only going to make one princess Black out of all the others that COULD have been Black…it’s old news anyway, we all grew up and are trying to just move past this, Disney wont be making any more Black princesses anytime soon, I feel like they just put her out so “We” could shut up about it…one princess is not enough but whatever

To be fair, Disney and Pixar do have other ethiniticites within their princesses. Yes the overwhelming majority are white. But… Pochantas– native American, Mulan– Asian, tayunia– African American, and Shrek’s wife was an ogre. Quit looking for something to complain about.

I enjoy the reimagining of all these characters, it’s very cool. The only one I don’t like is Snow White. The reason the character is called Snow White is because her Skin is as White as snow. If you change her ethincity than as a result you’d have to change her name. Logically her mother wouldn’t come up with the name snow white if she’s african american. It just wouldn’t happen.

These ‘toons look exactly like Caucasians with various levels of tan. Not East Asians, Aboriginal, Polynesian, American Indian, or sub-Saharan Africans.
