Aaliyah’s Uncle Releases Alleged Album Art For Posthumous Project

It looks like the much speculated posthumous album from Aaliyah is moving forward. The late singer’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson, tweeted what might be art from the project. Drake has stated that he’s acting as executive producer, while Aaliyah’s long-time friends and collaborators, Missy Elliott and Timbaland, seemed to have no idea that a new Aaliyah project was even in the works. According to Hankerson, the album will contain 16 previously unreleased tracks produced by Drake and his OVO team.  Aaliyah looks stunning in a black and white still, with her trademark “A” framing her face. Last Saturday marked the 11th anniversary of the late singer’s tragic death in a plane crash in the Bahamas.

The album art or release date for the highly-anticipated LP has not been officially confirmed, but the image is enough to give fans hope for new music from the icon.

What do you think of the cover art? Are you excited for new Aaliyah music?

honestly… aaliyah been gone for 11 years. its time to let her go. remember her yes but making money off her…bad look. let her rip.
plus how do you think this makes her family feel? havig to hear her voice again knowing they’d never see her.

Its too busy. It has wayy too much going on in that little space and it’s trying too hard to be edgy and evoke “illuminati” talk.

  • Youknowwhatiitis

    I like…VERY creative.

Sounds like uncle Barry is broke and trying to pay his bills off Aaliyah’s name

I have a question to the b.gossip website. You all run 3 Beyonce something or others, what what every 4 days, but never run anything on her when you press something Aaliyah. Or you will put Blue or Shawn Carter a top module and Aaliyah somewhere way bottom , all on page one, but all kinds a feets apart. What it be man?

im not for the new album simply because drake is producing it and it pisses me off who is he, he doesn’t have skills to work with aaliyah’s talent. but if has to be a new album it should simply be the silver A symbol on a gold background and her photographs should be in the booklet, this artwork is way too busy and it doesn’t represent aaliyah’s elegance and grace.

It Looks Like Someone Misses Her Pay Checks…

    Looks like Illuminati symbolism.

I agree, too busy. You see her face, but then there’s random legs below. Too much happening and the photos don’t blend well.

I love Aaliyah , but I’m not digging the idea of this new album. She gave us enough. I could see if it was something she was gearing up to put out before she passed but its not, its just a way for greedy folks to get richer. Aaliyah made goog music that stood the test of time. The movie is what I want to see, and any unreleased tracks could go on the soundtrack. ijs . O and they don’t need no rappers unless its DMX or Missy, people she worked with.

  • ButtaFlyyTulsa

This screams Illuminati, but it’s too obvious. And on top of that, it’s just not cute. What are those bone/machine looking things on the sides of the pyramid ‘A’??? And why choose a pic from the video shoot that killed her?!?!?!? #RANDOM

Yes it does look like Illuminati symbolism and Drake’s company Ovo is patterned after the owl the illuminati worship. Every July, they perform a mock human sacrifice of a child to a 50ft owl during their Cremation of Care ceremony at the Bohemian Grove in California. Its so sad how they take deceased artists’ images and use them for their own purposes. SAD SAD SHAME. I believe most (id not all) of these celebrity deaths were them being “thrown from the freedom train” (code for illuminati murder).Tupac, Biggie, Amy Winehouse, Whitney, Michael Jackson, Left Eye, Lightly, Aaliah, Kurt Cobain, Marylin Monroe, Elvis, etc. The list goes on & on. They kill these stars when they won’t cooperate, when it’s a bl00d sacrifice or when they can make more $$$ if the star was dead. It’s REAL ppl – do your own research. It’s all there!

Uncle Barry pimped her in life and now he’s pimping her in death. Shameless. RIP Aaliyah!

  • LIFE44

I AM THE BIGGEST AALIYAH FAN SO IF THERE ARE 16 UNRELEASED SONGS THAT I HAVENT HEARD I WANT TO HEAR THEM. BUT DRAKE SHOULD NOT BE PRODUCING THE ALBUM

  • Cici_2004@yahoo.com

I am a aaliyah fan 100% but the cover is too extra something she is not. She symbols elegance and I do not like the idea of drake doing this album. Timberland should as well as missy. Drake please dont tarnish her music.

I know they need to get started & finished on Aaliyah’s biopic.

  • anonymous

wow. that is incredibly masonic looking album art.

  • A. Muzik

Why is it always Illuminati talk with you people?? Why can’t it just be a simple design created by the people at her label for an alleged posthumous album?? Not every single celebrity that has passed on or who is even alive today was or is involved in that stuff – I honestly don’t feel that she was involved in that stuff.
As far as Drake being executive producer of this album, I really think that he should get on the phone and contact Missy & Tim. If he’s going to do this he should do it the right way. I know Drake means well & I respect the love he has for her, but he needs to get in touch with the people who knew more about her musical style.
