The “Little Black Dress” has become a staple in fashion industry. Once used only as an outfit for mourning, the LBD has evolved into a symbol of versatility and affordability for fashion’s taste-makers. Head designer and creative designer of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld was even quoted “one is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a little black dress.” Today, we wish the LBD a happy 86th birthday which debuted on October 1, 1926 in Vogue magazine as a calf-lengthed, long-sleeved, jersey dress by Coco Chanel.
Here are a few of our favorite celebs donning LBDs.
