A lot of people in the world struggle with addictions on a daily basis. Celebrities are no different than us, but for them it is all seen in the spotlight. While rehab works for some, others may need a trip or two or three before it actually kicks in and you realize how bad you are hurting yourself and your family (sometimes that never clicks for people). This is a list of celebrities in rehab more than once.
Bobby has had years of issues and arrests related to drugs and alcohol. In March 2012 he was arrested for a DUI and entered court-ordered rehab for his drinking in August 2012. Three weeks later he checked out and then in October 2012 he was arrested for his second DUI. It looks like he is headed back to rehab!
We all saw the downward spiral of Charlie Sheen in 2011, as he went a little loopy and was winning at everything. He says he has been off drugs and alcohol since March 2011, but that is his claim. He never went to rehab during that year, but he was in rehab in 1990 for alcohol and then in May 1998 for trying to inject cocaine.
Nicole Richie is one to clean up her act. She went to rehab in 2003 after receiving her first DUI. She was back at it in 2006 and entered rehab again after her second DUI. Since then she has had two children and gotten married to Joel Madden and seems to have grown up a lot.
Photo: WENNLindsay is the queen of rehab, as she has been in and out five times now and seriously needs to get back in there. She first checked in in January 2007 and then her legal woes started. She was back in rehab in May 2007, August 2007, August 2010 and September 2010. This girl has been given more than enough chances and keeps screwing up!
Photo: WENNI think we have all seen that video of David Hasselhoff laying on his floor, drunk and eating a cheeseburger. It wasn't his proudest moment, but the Baywatch star has struggled with alcohol abuse for years. He has been in treatment in 2001, 2002 and 2004. The video happened in 2007 and he entered rehab again. He has yet to learn and been rushed to the hospital in 2009 and (perhaps again in) 2010 for alcohol poisoning, but he has kept himself out of the headlines since then.
Photo: WENNPete Doherty just looks dirty and on something all the time. He was in and out of rehab between 2005 and 2007 and his last stint was a six-week stay in September 2007.
Photo: WENNThird time was the charm for Kelly Osbourne. She had an addiction to prescription drugs and checked into rehab in April 2004. She relapsed and went back in June 2005. She stayed strong for a while, but in January 2009 she went to rehab one more time and has stayed clean every since.
Robert Downey, Jr.
Photo: WENNThis is another case of someone who has gotten their life together and continues to have a successful career because of it. Robert was in and out of rehab centers from 1996 to 2001. He was in prison for drug charges in 2000. He relapsed after prison and found himself in rehab one more time and this time it has caught on for him and he continues his sobriety.
Photo: WENNWe all loved him as Chandler Bing on Friends, but we have all seen his struggles with prescription painkillers and alcohol. He first entered rehab in 1997 and the relapsed again and was back in for two months in 2001. The stress of Hollywood got to him again and he went back in rehab in May 2011, but he has a new show on NBC called Go On and hopefully he can stay clean.
Photo: WENNThis man has constantly been in the spotlight for his alcohol abuse. He entered rehab in 2008 and then was a cast member on Dr. Drew's show Sober House in 2009. That all didn't help as he was arrested for disorderly conduct involving drugs and alcohol in May 2011.
Photo: WENNDrew Barrymore got into acting at a very young age and she also started smoking and drinking and doing drugs at a very young age. She entered rehab at the age of 13! She returned a year later after she attempted to commit suicide. She has cleaned herself up since then and led a very successful career in Hollywood and recently had her first child, Olive.
Photo: WENNMaybe the third time was the charm for this Backstreet Boy. A.J. McLean first entered rehab back in 2001 and again in 2002 for anxiety, alcohol abuse and depression. He went back a third time in January 2011 and hopefully it works, as BSB are planning a reunion tour in 2013.
Photo: WENNCourtney Love has been and will always be a hot mess. She has struggled with drug abuse for years and been in rehab in 1994, 2003 and 2005.
Photo: WENNWouldn't the Gleeks go crazy knowing this information? Cory Monteith, who plays Finn on the hit FOX series Glee, used to be a badass. He entered rehab at the age of 19 (he is actually 30 years old, but playing a 18 year old on TV) when he was doing and using whatever he could get his hands on. He entered rehab again after he stole money from a family member.
